ABOUT THE RECIPE:
This colorful display of veggies, nuts, dried fruits, hummus, and olives makes a tempting presentation for any family gathering or casual get-together.
Makes 10 to 12 appetizer servings
INGREDIENTS:
12 whole baby carrots (or 6 large carrots, cut in half)
10 to 12 celery sticks, halved
1 large yellow sweet pepper, seeded and sliced
1 large orange sweet pepper, seeded and sliced
1 large red sweet pepper, seeded and sliced
10 to 12 grape or cherry tomatoes
1/2 medium cucumber partially peeled and sliced
1 cup dried figs or dates
1 cup mixed nuts
⅔ cup pitted Kalamata olives
1½ cups Garlicky Hummus (see link, below) or store bought hummus
Assortment of crackers or flat bread
INSTRUCTIONS:
Arrange all of the veggies and dried fruit in a pleasing pattern on an ample cutting board or large serving platter.
Put the nuts and olives in bowls or large martini-style glasses and place them on the cutting board. Put the hummus in a pretty bowl and place it next to the cutting board.
Place appetizer plates, napkins, and small forks near the board and serve!
