ABOUT THE RECIPE:

I adore serving homemade sorbet because it has a fresh taste not found in store-bought varieties. Frozen mangos give this sorbet a lovely color and a cool, tangy taste.

Makes 4 servings

INGREDIENTS:

2 to 3 ripe mangos, peeled, pitted, cubed, and frozen
1½ to 3 tablespoons maple syrup, plus more as needed
¼ cup water, plus more as needed
4 mint sprigs, for garnish, (optional)

INSTRUCTIONS:

Put all of the ingredients in a blender. Process until the mixture resembles a frosty sorbet consistency, adding more water or maple syrup, 1 tablespoon at a time, as needed to achieve the desired consistency. Scoop into 4 dessert dishes and garnish with optional mint sprigs. Serve immediately.
