ABOUT THE RECIPE:
These quick-to-craft Chocolate Candy Clusters are so easy to make, yet they are bursting with rich flavor. Use your favorite ready-to-eat granola or cluster-style breakfast cereal in this recipe.
MAKES 12 to 14 candies
INGREDIENTS:
5 heaping tablespoons vegan dark chocolate chips
1 cup ready-to-eat vegan "cluster-style" cereal or granola
1 tablespoon unsweetened shredded dried coconut (optional)
INSTRUCTIONS:
Line a medium baking sheet with unbleached parchment paper. Put the cereal or granola in a medium-sized bowl.
Put the chocolate chips in a double boiler over low heat. Let the chips melt, stirring occasionally.
Once the chocolate chips have melted, carefully pour the melted chocolate over the cereal (or granola) and stir together until the chocolate completely coats the cereal. For each cluster, drop one heaping tablespoon of the chocolate and cereal mixture onto the lined baking sheet.
If desired, sprinkle a bit of the optional coconut over top of each cluster. Cover and refrigerate for 30 minutes, or until set. Stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator, clusters will keep for about 5 days.
