If you need an afternoon pick-me-up, try sipping this cool, refreshing lemonade. It’s a sweet twist on an American classic.

Makes 2 servings

INGREDIENTS:

Juice of 1 large lemon
2 ½ tablespoons maple syrup
2 cups ice cubes
3 cups water, or as needed
Mint sprigs (for garnish, optional)

INSTRUCTIONS:

Put the lemon juice and maple syrup in a small bowl and whisk until thoroughly combined. Pour into two tall glasses, dividing the mixture evenly between them. Add about 1 cup of ice cubes to each glass. Slowly pour in the water, stirring constantly and filling the glasses to the top. Garnish with optional mint sprigs, if desired. Serve immediately.
