ABOUT THE RECIPE:
Easy Green Beans with Vegan Butter Sauce are lightly steamed and drizzled with vegan butter to create a kiddo-friendly veggie side.
Makes 4 servings
INGREDIENTS:
12 ounces green beans, washed and trimmed
1 heaping tablespoon vegan buttery spread
Salt, to taste
Freshly ground black pepper, to taste (optional)
INSTRUCTIONS:
Fit a steamer basket into a medium-large saucepan with a tight-fitting lid. Add 2- to 3-inches of water, and then add the green beans. Cover and bring to a boil. Steam the beans for 7 to 9 minutes or until crisp tender.
Transfer the beans to a large bowl. Add the vegan buttery spread and gently stir to thoroughly coat the beans. Top with salt and several grinds of optional black pepper, to taste and serve.
