MARCH 7TH 2012: Celebrating Life: Best of Jazzy Vegetarian Radio
This show is part of our “Best of Jazzy Vegetarian Radio Show” Series. This show originally aired October 19th, 2011. It was my great honor to welcome Gurmukh Kaur Khalsa, Founder and Director of Golden Bridge, a spiritual village. Golden Bridge is the largest yoga and meditation center in North America. Gurmukh is the author of "The Eight Human Talents: The Yogic Way to Restoring the Natural Balance of Serenity Within You", and "Bountiful, Beautiful, Blissful: Experience the Natural Power of Pregnancy and Birth with Kundalini Yoga and Meditation." Gurmukh was given her Sikh spiritual name meaning “one who helps people across the world ocean” 36 years ago. Since then, she has dedicated her life to fulfilling that responsibility. In addition, I welcomed Peter Capozzi who has practiced many forms of yoga before receiving IKYTA certification through his training with Gurmukh at Golden Bridge Yoga. He is passionate about making a difference by sharing this profound practice with others. Peter Capozzi has also worked for many years as a film and television writer, producer and director in New York and Los Angeles.

There will be Walk for Farm Animals events in dozens of cities, from New York to California, and there is also a virtual event called the “Sleep In for Farm Animals” for those unable to attend a Walk event in person. This show is part of our “Best of Jazzy Vegetarian Radio Show” Series. This show originally aired April 6th, 2011. Today I welcome Grammy Nominated Roseanna Vitro, a jazz singer with a penchant for touching audiences. Roseanna’s latest recording Sail Away, the Randy Newman Project, was nominated for a 2011 Grammy. The CD features the brilliant compositions of Randy Newman re-imagined through the arrangements of Mark Soskin. Ms. Vitro has toured the world as an esteemed performer, clinician, recording artist, vocal instructor and ambassador. Roseanna has served as an official Jazz Ambassador, sponsored in 2009 by Jazz at Lincoln Center and the U.S. State Department, and she has presented concerts and workshops around the world. In addition I chat with Colleen Holland who is Associate Publisher and co-creator of “VegNews.” From Vegnews's beginning, Colleen has helped to grow the publication from a 28-page newspaper to an award-winning magazine.
