Marinara Sauce, A Pantry Staple

Posted on June 6, 2012

My secret for making quick and easy weeknight recipes is Marinara Sauce.

If you like whipping up home cooked meals in a snap, consider adding a low-fat, vegan marinara sauce as a pantry staple in your kitchen. A good, jarred marinara makes a timesaving base for many plant-based recipes such as lasagna, pastas, chili, sauces, casseroles and more.

Jazzy, Snazzy Quinoa

Posted on May 23, 2012

Quinoa (pronounced keen-wa) is a fabulous alternative to brown rice. Quinoa is technically the seed of an herbaceous flowering plant, not a cereal grass (grain), but its texture, flavor, and uses echo those of many true grains, so it’s generally thought of as a grain.
